Is your wealth your God..?

Is your wealth your God??

There is a beautiful example in the Qur’aan by way of two companions. One had abundant worldly wealth. He was arrogant, purse-proud and puffed-up with his possessions, his income and his large family and followings. He looked down on his companion, trying to impress him with his importance and forgetting that what all he had was from God.

His thoughts were engrossed in his property; his hopes built on it and it had become an absorbing passion of his life. In his mind “better” means more wealth and more power; of the kind he was enjoying in this world.

Because of his great income and lavished resources, he would not listen to his companion, who boasted of nothing as his trust was in God. He pointed out to him that the correct way of enjoying all these gifts is to show gratitude to God.

The companion though being less affluent of the two was content and satisfied with whatever he had. He gave him the warning that this world is a fleeting show and God’s punishment is certain to those who are in-ordinate with the goods of this life.

But, he has taken his wealth as his God and thought in his self-complacency that all this would last forever.

It was not wealth that ruined him but the attitude of his mind. He was more unjust to his own soul than to anyone else. In his love of the material, he forgot or openly defied the spiritual; although in reality even what he had, rested on the hollow foundations and was doomed to perish and bring him down with it.

And it happened so; all his wealth was destroyed by a dreadful reckoning, he had nothing left; all that he had was gone. If he had only looked to God, instead of the ephemeral goods of this world, he; like his companion would also have been a happier and fortunate man in the end.

The only help and the only hope; he had already rejected – The One and Only True God. The best Rewards and best success comes from Him and all the other rewards and successes are illusory – vanity – uncertainty – the play of time.

Think again…

And put forward to them the example of two men: to one of them We provided two gardens of grape...Each of those gardens brought forth its produce, and failed not in the least therein,...he said to his companion,...“I am more than you in wealth and stronger in respect of men.” And He went into his garden (while in a state of pride and disbelief), unjust to himself...I think not that this will ever perish...And I think not the Hour (of Judgement) will ever come...His companion said to him, “Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you out of dust?...It may be that my Lord will give me something better than your garden, and that He will send on your garden thunderbolts (torment) from the sky, making it (but) slippery sand!”...So his fruits...which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundation, and he could only say: “Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher...The (only) protection comes from Allah, the True One, He is the Best to reward, and the Best to give success. (Al-Qur’aan Sura. 18 Ayat. 32-44)

In the name of Allah the most merciful and beneficial  WHAT IS MIRACLES OF SAINT - IT'S CONCEPT AND DIFFERENCE BETWEEN  AUTHENTIC  AND FALSE MIRACLES. THE FALSE ABOUT AJMER SHARIF DARGAH. The Miracles (mujizah and karamah) The term Miracle (Mu’jizah) is something that violates the natural phenomena earlier scholars used Karamah as a synonym of Mu’jizah, but later generation of scholars differentiated between the two. Mu’jizah is used for prophet and Karamah is used for the wali (a favorite of Allah), and the result of occurrence for both is contravention of natural phenomena. All the prophets from Adam to Muhammad (peace be upon them all) have been ordered to mention that they no longer have any power over the matters that they do miraculously, except with the help of Allah. ...
