What
is a Mirage..?
A
mirage is strange phenomenon of illusion. A lonely traveller in a desert,
nearly dying of thirst, sees a broad sheet of water. But in reality there is no water
there, it is a trick of his vision – a mirage. He keeps on going in that
direction, on and on, but finds nothing at all and finally dies in extreme
physical and mental pain.
The
existence of God is an absolute reality while His rejection on the other
hand, is
not a reality in itself but a denial of this absolute reality – a mirage.
Those
who deny this fact, rebel against Him, and refuse to see His Signs, will be
overwhelmed in utter darkness as in the depths of an Ocean – wave upon wave, one above another,
and on top of that dense dark clouds!
The
true source of Light in the world of Reality is Allah, and all those who cut themselves off
from this light are in utter darkness indeed, for it is the rejection of the
only true light, and not mere darkness.
All
their deeds are like a man deluded by a mirage. The truth which they rejected was
always there with them, but
the mirage which they accepted will lead to their destruction and then they
will not have a chance to
Think
again…
As
for those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in a desert. The
thirsty one thinks it to be water, until he comes up to it, he finds it to be
nothing; but he finds Allah (ever) with him, Who will pay him his due account
(Hell). And Allah is swift in taking account. Or (the state of a disbeliever)
is like the darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with waves topped by
waves, topped by dark clouds, (layers of) darkness upon darkness: if a man
stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it! For any to whom Allah has not
appointed light, for him there is no light! (Al-Qur’an Sura.24 Ayat.39-40)
