Why Allah Created Shaitaan / अल्लाह ने शैतान क्यों बनाया ..?

As we know that all evil and sins occur due to existence of the Shaitaan (Satan – the Arch Devil) and his followers and there would have been peace and happiness all around if they would not have existed. So, why did Allah created them?

In the creation of the Shaitaan and his followers there is a wisdom, details of which are fully known to Allah alone. However, Imam (Scholar) Ibnill-Qayyim brings some of the many fascinating reasons behind the creation of the Shaitaan, in his book Shifaa al-Ghaleel, p.322.

1.      Shaitaan was a Jinn and was created from fire. Jinn are a creation of Allah, and are subject to His Commands and Prohibitions and like humans they will be held accountable for their deeds on the Day of Judgment. In the beginning Shaitaan used to worship Allah and he was striving to imitate the Angels in their behavior and deeds. He was among the residents of the earth and was one of the most active worshipers and knowledgeable persons in the midst of the Angels. So, by witnessing the fall of a Jinn from being in the company of the Angels to become Shaitaan (the rebellious), the believers (the slaves of Allah) increase their Taqwa in Allah. (i.e. fearing the consequences of belittling the Commandments and Prohibitions of Allah).

2.      The fathers of both humankind and jinn were tested. One father – Shaitaan was too proud and refused to follow Allah’s Commands. He was made to face humiliation and disgrace and expelled from the Paradise and doomed to be amongst the people of the Hell-fire. He thus, became a lesson for those who show arrogance and persist in their sins. Conversely, the other father, Adam (peace be upon him) became an example for those who repent and return back to Allah after having committed mistakes in ignorance.

3.      Allah’s ability and complete Authority to create opposites such as; heavens and earth, light and darkness, Paradise and Hell, water and fire, heat and cold, good and evil and Angels as opposed to Shaiyateen (devils).

4.      The goodness of a thing can only be demonstrated by means of its opposite. If it were not for the ugly, we would not appreciate beauty, if it were not for the poverty, we would not value wealth and if it were not for the disbelieve on the part of the disbelievers like Shaitaan, we would not have known the value faith in God.

5.      By struggling against the Shaitaan and thus reaching lofty ranks of piety, the servants of Allah increase their servitude to Allah, which could not have been possible without the existence of Shaitaan.

6.      Allah loves to manifest His Forbearance, Patience and Deliberation (Lack of Haste), immense Mercy and Generosity. This necessitates that He should create those who will anger Him. Yet, despite their transgressions, Allah bestows upon them all kinds of blessings; He sends provision, gives good health and allows them to enjoy all kinds of luxuries. He answers their prayers and removes harm from them. He treats them with kindness and care, unlike the manner in which they treat Him. And when the slaves return back to Allah and seek his forgiveness He accepts their repentance and thus the slaves witness His attributes of unbounded Love, Mercy and Forgiveness.

7.      Although evil and sins that occur due to existence of the Shaitaan and his followers angers Allah; the act of obedience that result are dearer to Him and more pleasing; such as a believers going against their desires that are insinuated by the Shaitaan, and believers patience upon the hardships that Shaitaan creates in the path of those who seek to earn Allah’s love and good pleasure. Similarly, although sins and disobedience that are caused by Shaitaan angers Allah, “Allah is more pleased with the repentance of a servant as he turns backs to Him – turn backs to his Creator.”

8.      Shaitaan and his followers (the disbelievers in God), are a test and a trial for the believers – for those who want to

Thus have We made for every Prophet an enemy among the Mujrimoon (disbelievers). But Sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper. (Al-Qur’an Ch.25 Ver.31)

अल्लाह ने शैतान को क्यों बनाया ..?

जैसा कि हम जानते हैं कि शैतान और उसके अनुयायियों के अस्तित्व के कारण ही सभी बुरे काम और पाप होते हैं और अगर वे अस्तित्व में नहीं होते, तो चारों ओर शांति और खुशी होती। तो, अल्लाह ने उन्हें क्यों बनाया?

शैतान और उसके अनुयायियों के निर्माण में ज्ञान है, जिसका विवरण पूरी तरह से अकेले अल्लाह को पता है। हालाँकि, इमाम (विद्वान) इब्निल-क़यिम अपनी किताब शिफ़ा अल-ग़ेलील, पृ .322 पर शैतान के निर्माण के पीछे कई आकर्षक कारण बताते हैं।

1. शैतान एक जिन्न था और आग से पैदा हुआ था। जिन अल्लाह की एक रचना है, और उसकी आज्ञाओं और प्रतिबंधों के अधीन हैं और मनुष्यों की तरह उन्हें क़यामत के दिन अपने कामों के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराया जाएगा। शुरुआत में शैतान अल्लाह की इबादत करता था और वह अपने व्यवहार और कामों में फरिश्तों की नकल करने का प्रयास करता था। वह पृथ्वी के निवासियों में से था और स्वर्गदूतों के बीच सबसे सक्रिय उपासकों और जानकारों में से एक था। इसलिए, एक जिन्न की गिरावट, फरिश्तों के साथ रहने के बाद, शैतान (एक विद्रोही) बनना, अल्लाह के बंदों का तक़वा बढ़ाता है (यानी अल्लाह के आदेशों और प्रतिबन्ध को रद्द करने के परिणामों से डरना)।

2. मानव जाति और जिन्न दोनों के पिता का परीक्षण किया गया। एक पिता - शैतान ने ग़रूर में आ के अल्लाह के आदेशों का पालन करने से इनकार कर दिया। उसे ज़िल्लत और अपमान का सामना करना पड़ा और स्वर्ग से निष्कासित कर के नर्क-अग्नि के लोगों के बीच डालने का दावा किया गया। इस प्रकार, वे उन लोगों के लिए एक सबक बन गया जो अहंकार दिखाते हैं और अपने पापों पर अड़े रहते हैं। इसके विपरीत, दूसरे पिता, आदम (शांति हो उन पर) उन लोगों के लिए एक उदाहरण बन गए जो पश्चाताप करते हैं और अज्ञानता में गलती करने के बाद वापस अल्लाह के पास लौट आते हैं।

3. शैतान की पैदाइश अल्लाह की क्षमता और पूर्ण प्राधिकरणता को दर्शित करती है, जैसे स्वर्ग और नर्क, आसमान और पृथ्वी, प्रकाश और अंधेरा, पानी और आग, गर्मी और ठंड, अच्छाई और बुराई और फरिश्तों के विपरीत शयातीन।

4. किसी वस्तु की अच्छाई को उसके विपरीत के माध्यम से ही प्रदर्शित किया जा सकता है। यदि बदसूरती न हो तो हम सुंदरता की सराहना नहीं करेंगे, अगर गरीबी नही हो, तो हम धन को महत्व नहीं देंगे और इसी तरहां शैतान और काफिरों की ओर से कुफ्र न होता, तो हमें अल्लाह और ईमान के महत्व का ज्ञान नही होता।

5. शैतान के खिलाफ संघर्ष करके अपने धर्म पर क़ायम रहकर अल्लाह के बंदे उसके प्रति सेवा को बड़ा कर नई बुलंदियों को हासिल करते हैं, जो कि शैतान के अस्तित्व के बिना संभव नहीं हो सकता था।

6. अल्लाह को अपने पूर्वाग्रह, धैर्य और सब्र (जल्दबाजी में कमी), असीम दया और उदारता को प्रकट करना पसंद है। इसके लिए यह जरूरी है कि वह उन लोगों को पैदा करे जो उसे गुस्सा दिलाए। फिर भी, उनके संक्रमण के बावजूद, अल्लाह उन पर सभी प्रकार के आशीर्वाद देता है; वह प्रावधान भेजता है, अच्छा स्वास्थ्य देता है और उन्हें सभी प्रकार की विलासिता का आनंद लेने की अनुमति देता है। वह उनकी प्रार्थनाओं का जवाब देता है और उनसे नुकसान को दूर करता है। वह उससे जिस तरह का व्यवहार करतें हैं, अल्लाह उसके विपरीत व्यवहार और देखभाल करता है। और जब उसके बंदे उसके पास आतें हैं और क्षमा मांगते हैं तो वह उनके पश्चाताप को स्वीकार कर लेता है और इस प्रकार हम उसके प्रेम, दया और क्षमा के गुणों को देख पाते हैं।

7. हालांकि शैतान और उसके अनुयायियों के अस्तित्व के कारण होने वाली बुराई और पाप से अल्लाह नाराज़ होता है; लेकिन इसके परिणामस्वरूप उसकी तरफ पलटने और फिर आज्ञापालन करने से वह अधिक प्रसन्न होता है; एक ईमान वाला जो अपनी इच्छाओं के विरुद्ध जा कर उन कठिनाइयों पर धैर्य रखता हैं जो शैतान उसके  मार्ग में पैदा करता है तो वो इंसान अल्लाह के प्यार और असीम सुख को प्राप्त करता है। इसी तरह, यद्यपि पाप और अवज्ञा जो कि शैतान के कारण होते हैं, "अल्लाह अपने सेवक के पश्चाताप से अधिक प्रसन्न होता है क्योंकि वह अपने बनाने वाले के पास लौट आता है।"

8. शैतान और उसके अनुयायियों की रचना ईमान वालों के लिए एक परीक्षा और एक परीक्षण है - जो चाहते हैं
