Is your wealth your God?? There is a beautiful example in the Qur’aan by way of two companions. One had abundant worldly wealth. He was arrogant, purse-proud and puffed-up with his possessions, his income and his large family and followings. He looked down on his companion, trying to impress him with his importance and forgetting that what all he had was from God. His thoughts were engrossed in his property; his hopes built on it and it had become an absorbing passion of his life. In his mind “better” means more wealth and more power; of the kind he was enjoying in this world. Because of his great income and lavished resources, he would not listen to his companion, who boasted of nothing as his trust was in God. He pointed out to him that the correct way of enjoying all these gifts is to show gratitude to God. The companion though being less affluent of the two was content and satisfied with whatever he had. He gave him the warning that this world is a fleeting
